We were nervous about our first naturist experience but within minutes it felt normal and We were fortunate enough to have clear blue skies, calm seas and to experience relaxed people of all shapes and sizes. The sea is incredibly clear and shallow.
You get used to the clothes free thing after about two minutes and after realising that maybe you are not different to most others! We had lunch with some good Belgian friends at a beach restaurant right at the far side West which had good food and good sun loungers. We walked the length of the naturist beach twice during our day there and saw at the far end East that there was some limited exhibitionism with a small crowd gathered round but it really was a rather pathetic spectacle!
Stayed there for a week in late August. The weather was warm 6 days out of the seven so we could not complain and we both got a good tan. The village is starting to look a little tired and could probably do with being repainted etc. The beach is very nice and clean. Some of the restaurants are better than others with Le Ghymnos being the best we found. Large plates of very good food.
As a general rule avoid any where only one or two couples are eating. The bakery and the shops have everything you need food wise. There are several commercial areas around the complex so if you do not see what you want in one move on to the next.
The prices are reasonable. What do you wear in a naturist village? In the evening most people put clothes on, however for the ladies anything that you can wear in the UK on a night out will be too frumpy for this place! My advice is take one outfit and that is it.
