Front Desk staff are not very friendly but the restaurant staff went out of their way to be attentive. We were bombarded by time share sales people the entire week. We said no nicely, we said no firmly, we dodged, avoided eye-contact and more Apparently they got 10USD if they persuaded us to go to one of their meetings!! The beach was amazing with lots of sunbeds. Some used to stop for a friendly chat anyway after a few days of seeing you there. We never experienced towels being stolen because after reading on this site about towels being stolen and then guests having to pay to replace then — we decided to just use our own beach towels.
Buffet was great, the food was always hot, fresh and there was great variety. We always had our table set for us and staff anticipated our every need. The Gala New Years Eve Buffet was over the top in amazing food choices - fireworks and live entertainment were fantastic. Our room was in block 8. It was clean and It was clean and big and with a very large comfy bed with a great view of the pool. It was a bit noisy at night when people left the disco.
We went on a trip to Paradise Island and also to Bravissimo. I would highly recommend both and the food at Bravissimo was absolutly mouth watering. We book both trips through the trip sellers on the beach, they were cheaper than Thomas Cook and really looked after us. The main thing that will stop me from returning is the prostitutes.
We traveled to Puerto Plata for the first time to this resort. Read all the reviews good and bad. We had a great time and enjoyed the staff and activities. The food was good and lot to choose from. The beaches were great and always clean. The only the problem was the vendors,just learn to say no thank you. They are only trying to make a living like all of us. We recomend Tip Top catamaran tour. Excellant day on water,snorkelling,swimming and staff were excellant,especially Eileen,bar and food were great.
Lunch is included in this extra package. Tip well, a few dollars can go far for these people who are most gracious to serve you.
