Hi all. If you are going to have a night away from Cannes , would restrict yourself to inland Provence, although there will be plenty to occupy you on the coast if you are only there for a week. Several perched villages etc can be done as a day trip using public transport. There are lots of ideas on these forums if you search. Probably ;- Aside from the wasted time and expense getting there, most of Paris goes to the coast in July with good reason.
