On another day in another time, this place would be a great place to go on a dare. Now this place is just a tourist trap that will disappoint. My friends and I were looking for something kind of edgy with lots of "new" foods and weird snaky, bloody concoctions.
All we we saw was a few caged snakes, cheap souvenirs in the covered market area. The street market was a bit more interesting. But I did not enjoy the after effects of street food Around the market was a maze of really gnarly hookers mingling with neighborhood kids. The highlight of the night was getting propositioned while watching a child throw up in a street drain.
Ya, taxi please Lots if eateries and food to try. Yummy the taiwan sausage, green tea drink and black jelly. Try eating in one of those tables set up in the street to get a local feel. Be very careful of the motorcycles that keep on passing through. Lots of massage and spa. When I arrived, the food stalls weren't all opened yet, so I got minute foot and back massages. So affordable and relaxing! I tried a gua pao or a Taiwanese Hamburger. I loved the combination of the soft bun, the salty meat and the cilantro, but the sweet sauce was a bit too sweet for me.
I enjoyed sitting in front of the cook and watching him prepare food. After that I got a taro-flavored milk tea with tapioca - so delicious! I was full after that, but I enjoyed walking around looking at the all the food choices. I stopped in front of a stall with terraria of huge snakes in front, a dining area at the back. Just as I got there, a man sitting on a high chair looked at me sternly, shook his head, and wiggled his index finger. I think he was forbidding me to take pictures. I went in this market ti eat snake and I eat snake and turtle.
More I bought a beatiful fake watch. Here u can buy even bags and other fakes. Very nice market ti have an eating experience. Feeling tired or under powered, then this is the place to go for a small pick me up of snake blood mixed with Gaoliang wine.
